ERP - bringing the organization together.

Integrating SCM, CRM, And ERP

  • SCM, CRM and ERP are the backbone of e-business.
  • integration of these application is the key to success for many companies.
  • integration allows the unlocking of information to make it available to any user, anywhere, anytime.
  • SCM and CRM market overviews.
  • general audience and purpose of SCM, CRM and ERP.

Integration Tools

many companies purchase modules from an ERP vendor, an SCM vendor, and a CRM vendor and must integrate the different modules together.
  • Middleware - several different types of software which sit in the middle of and provide connectivity between two or more software applications.
  • Enterprise application integration (EAI) middleware - packages together commonly used functionally which reduced the time necessary to develop solutions that integrate applications from multiple vendors.
  • Data points where SCM, CRM and ERP integrate.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
ERP systems must integrate various organization processes and be:
- flexible
-modular and open
-comprehensive
-beyond the company

SAP boasts 20,000 installations and 10 million users worldwide.

ERP solutions are growing because:
- ERP is a logical solution to the mess of incompatible applications that had sprung up in most businesses.

CHAPTER 8: ACCESSING ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION - DATA WAREHOUSE

Assalamualaikum smua... :D
t0day i want t0 write about chapter 8. it is Accessing Organizational Information - Data Warehouse.

In this chapter i learn about the roles, purposes, the relationship between business intelligence and a data warehouse and etc. ok i will write what i understands in this chapter. :)

Data Warehouse Fundamentals :

  • Data warehouse - a logical collection of information -gathered from many different operational databases -that supports business analysis activities and decision-making tasks.
  • primary purpose of a data warehouse is to aggregate information throughout an organization into a single repository decision-making purposes.
  • Extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) - a process that extracts information from internal and external databases, transform the information using a common set of interprise definitions, and loads the information into a data warehouse.
  • Data mart - contains a subset of data warehouse information.

Multidimensional Analysis and Data Mining :
  • cube - common term for the representation of multidimensional information.

  • data mining - the process of analyzing data to extract information not offered by the raw data alone.
  • data-mining tool - uses a variety of techniques to find patterns and relationships in large volumes of information and infers rules that predict future behavior and guide decision making.
Information Cleansing or Scrubbing :
  • is a process that weeds out and fixes or discards inconsistent, incorrect, or incomplete information.
Business Intelligence :

  • information that people use to support their decision-making efforts.
  • principle BI enablers includes - technology, people and culture.
ok that all fr0m me t0day.. bye u all.

CHAPTER 7: STORING ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION - DATABASE

Assalamualaikum...!!!
apa khabar my follower smua?? hrp anda smuadlm keadaan baik dan diredhai Allah SWT.

ok la ari ni i just want t0 share with u all ab0ut chapter 7 fr0m IT subject. this t0pic tell ab0ut the Storing Organizational Information - Database. i h0pe u will understand when u read this t0pic... :)

Database :

  • maintains information about various types of objects (inventory), events (transactions), people (employees), and places (warehouse).
Database models :
  • Hierarchical database model - information is organized into a tree-like structure (using parent/child relationship) in such a way that it cannot have too many relationship.
  • Network database model - a flexible way of representing objects and their relationships.
  • Relational database model - stores information in the form of logically related two-dimensional tables.
Entities and Attributes :
  • entities is a person, place, thing, transaction, or event about which information is stored. - the rows, in each table contain the entities.
  • attributes (fields, columns) is characteristics or properties of an entity class. - the columns in each table contain the attributes.
Keys and Relationship :
  • Primary key - a field (or group of fields) that uniquely identifies a given entity in a table.
  • Foreign key - a primary key of one table that appears an attribute in another table and acts to provide a logical relationship among the two tables.
Relational Database Advantages :
  1. Increased flexibility - a well-designed database should handle changes quickly and easily and provide users with different view.
  2. Increased scalability performance - scalability refers to how well a system can adapt to increase demands. And performance is to measures how quickly a system performs a certain process or transaction.
  3. Reduced information redundancy - redundancy is the duplication of information or storing the same information in multiple places.
  4. Increased information integrity (quality) - information integrity is to measures the quality of information. And the integrity constraint is the rules that help ensure the quality of information. > relational integrity constraint and business-critical integrity constraint.
  5. Increased information security - password provides authentication of the user, access level determines who has access to the different types of information, and access control determines types of user access, such as read-only access.
Database Management Systems :
- software through which users and application programs interact with a database.

Database-Driven Websites :
- an interactive website kept constantly updated and relevant to the needs of its customers through the use of a database.
Integrating Information among Multiple Databases :
  • Integration is allows separate systems to communicate directly with each other. there has two ways is -forwards integration is takes information entered into a given system and sends it automatically to all downstream systems and processes. then, backward integration is takes information entered into a given system and sends it automatically to all upstream systems and processes.
ok la, that all for t0day.. go0d bye. see u next time.. :p

hari ni dah nak msuk 4 hari kite smua b;puase. bulan Ramadhan adalah bulan yg sngt di tunggu2 oleh smua umat Islam di seluruh dunia. pada bulan ni la kite smua b'pusu mengerjakan kewajipan kite sebagai hamba Allah SWT. s0lat terawih merupakan salah satu ibadah yg kite tunggu2 bila menjelang bulan Ramadhan. selain drpd s0lat terawih kite juga blh melakukn ibadah sunat yg lain seperti bersedekah, s0lat tahajjud, qiamullail dan sebagainya. di sini ak ingin terangkan serba sedikit tentang kelebihan  qiamullail. qiamullail adalah satu cara mendekatkn diri kpd Allah SWT yg sngt dituntut dlm agama. qiamullail adalah bangun sepertiga mlm utk melakukan ibadah tertentu seperti solat, doa, zikir dan sebagainya.

sejarah qiamullail :

qiamullail adlah sumber kekuatan rohani bgi orang mukmin.

kelebihan qiamullail :
·  dimakbulkan doanya dan masin perkataan.
·  tenang hati dan fikirannya
·  dimurahkan rezeki
·  dihormati masyarakat

hikmah qiamullail :
·  meningkatkan keimanan individu
·  meninggikan darjat disisi Allah
·  dapat beribadah dengan lebih khusyuk
·  mendidik jiwa bersyukur dengan nikmat kesihatan dan nikmat waktu malam yang tenang
·  melatih diri menjadi insan bertakwa
·  melatih diri menperbanyakkan amalan sunat
·  mendidik jiwa melawan nafsu dan syaitan
·  menyedari bahawa manusia dicipta untuk beribadah
·  melatih diri mengharap keredhaan Allah
·  memberi ketenangan jiwa (emosi)

chapter 2!!!!

salam smua... :)
mggu nie kt0rng dh abes study chapter 2 (identifying competitive advantages).

  1. identifying competitive advantages is to survive and thrive an organization must create a competitive advantage.
  • competitive advantage : a product or service that an organization's customers place a greater value on than similar offerings from a competitor
  • first-mover advantage : occurs when an organization can significantly impact its market share by being first to market with a competitive advantage.

organizations watch their competition through environmental scanning
  • environmental scanning : the acquisition and analysis of events and trends in the environment external to an organization.
three common tools used in industry to analyze and develop competitive advantages include:
  • Porter's Five Forces Model
  • Porter's three generic strategies
  • Value chain
     2. the five forces model-Evaluating business segments
Porter's Five Forces Model determines the relative attractiveness of an industry.

Rivalry among existing competitors  >>
  1. Buyer Power assessed by analyzing the ability of buyers to directly impact the price they are willing to pay.
  • ways to reduce buyer power : - switching costs - costs that can make customer reluctant.
-loyalty program - rewards customers based on the amount.

     2.  Supplier Power assessed by the suppliers' ability to directly impact the price.
Supply chain consists of all parties involved in the procurement of a product or raw material.

    3.  Threat of Substitute Products or Services is high when there are many alternatives to a    product/services and low when there are few alternatives from which to choose.

    4.  Threat of New Entrants is high when it is easy for new competitors to enter a market and low when there are significant entry barriers to entering a market.

    5.  Rivalry Among Existing Competitors is high when competition is fierce in a market and low when competition is more complacent.

  • product differentiation occurs when a company develops unique differences in its products with the intent to influence demand.
    6.  The Three Generic Strategies - Creating A Business Focus
Organizations typically follow one of Porter's three generic strategies when entering a new market.

    7.  Value Chain
  • once an organization choose its strategy, it can use tools such as the value chain to determine the success or failure of its chosen strategy.
  • business process - a standardized set of activities that accomplish a specific task, such as processing a customer's order.
  • value chain - views an organization as a series of processes, each of which adds value to the product or service for each customer.
  • combining Porter's Five Forces and three generic strategies create business strategies for each segment.
